Regardless of the operating system you are using, there are a few automated tasks that need to be done from time to time. While Windows comes with an embedded task scheduler, its functionality is limited and basically solely allows you to close or end processes.
TaskCreate is a lightweight piece of software designed to help you schedule tasks that can be performed automatically during off hours or when you are not using the computer. The tool does not come with an interface per se, but rather a small window where you are prompted to enter the file path. As you probably already hinted, you need to have some application or perhaps a script in order to benefit from the application's purpose.
Generally speaking, scheduling tasks can save you a lot of time and energy in the long run. For instance, if you were to perform a large update to your workstation that simply requires time and not your presence, then having them performed at a time when you are not using the computer could come in handy. Not only can you be certain that the task, be it maintenance, updating or upgrading, is going to be complete, but you can also use the extra time to perform other fruitful activities.
