SimPhase is a software suite specifically tailored for the simulation of electric power systems. In short, SimPhase is comprised out of two separate apps: the SimPhase Graphical Interface, and the SimPhase Induction Motor Calculations (ICM) Program.

Claculate the speed of a three-phase induction motor in no time


The bundle can be installed with the least amount of effort and in no more than a couple of seconds by practically anyone via its straightforward installer. The first thing that users will be able to see after its installation is the SimPhase Interface.
The interface component helps users define and analyse inducation motors, as well as to start the second big component of the bundle – the SimPhase Induction Motor Calculations (ICM) Program.This last component is capable of performing highly accurate calculations in order to determine the steady-state conditions of a three phase induction motor for any combination of mechanical loading and terminal voltage.

Straightforward and lightweight induction motor calculator


The main window is simple and the GUI is just your typical interface one might expect to find in an app of this sort. The projects are saved in .stu, but before this can happen, users have to first create a three-phase bus. To create a bus, simply right-click an open space on the diagram and select the “create bus” option. Users will be greeted by a Bus Properties Dialog window where they have to enter the bus’ name as well as the Rated Voltage values.
Using the defined mechanical loadings, the app’s SimPhase IMC Program is able to calculate the steady-state conditions of the motor including the speed and slip values. It’s worth noting that the free version of the application can only process motors with ratings under 25 HP and motors without VFD speed controls.
All in all, SimPhase provides a quick and efficient solution for accurately determining the steady-state running conditions of any three-phase induction motor for almost all combinations of mechanical loadings, and terminal voltage.
