JiveX [dv] Viewer

Web-enabled solutions for medical image communication and processing, all in the form of a lightweight image viewing application tool

DICOM imagery is a proprietary format used in the medical field, and they stand for Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine. Simply put, they are pictures like x-ray results, cat scans and more of the type.
Since this imagery is of great importance in hospitals and doctor's private offices, it is no wonder that a software tool capable of reading them can come in handy, one of them being JiveX [dv] Viewer.

The same UI as any typical image viewer

JiveX [dv] Viewer's UI is as simple as it can get, and all you need to do to open DICOM images is either dragging them on top of it or setting it as the default application for opening such formats.
Adjusting the images, browsing through a series of scans or having patient data displayed are just a few options that you can activate with a single click. There are many tools for measuring some aspects of the slides, so measuring the size of various elements (bones, shards, growths) can also be done down to the last inch.

Compare before and after results

As you would expect, the best way to observe the evolution of a patient's health is by comparing before and after pictures, which can be easily achieved by using the "Compare Mode" from the "Swap viewer" submenu.
More so, smaller elements that need special attention can be either zoomed in, or the entire image can be viewed in fullscreen mode, either of which results in the same thing.
Elements of interest can be marked in various ways, either by having annotations added to them or by directly doodling over them with the app's built-in drawing tool.

A useful software utility for any hospital or doctor's office

While JiveX [dv] Viewer may not have an abundance of tools like professional programs do, the lightweight feel and the fact that the few features it has are enough to cover the basics make it an excellent free alternative.
