CapsLock Indicator

3.13.3.0

Small, open-source application that displays the current status of the Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock keys in the system tray

Many keyboards, especially the ones laptops are equipped with, do not have indicators for the status of the Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock keys. This can, of course, be an issue, but there are certain apps that can help you out.
CapsLock Indicator is an open-source program that displays one or more icons in the system tray area, which show you the status of various keys. It can also display notifications, and it is fully configurable.

Easy to deploy and set up

Since the application does not require installation, you can run it from any location as soon as it has been downloaded. The Settings panel will be displayed on launch, and you can choose which of the icons should be shown in the system tray.
The notifications are also customizable, and you can choose to disable them altogether. Additionally, it is possible to alter the background, text and border color, as well as set the preferred display time.

Unobtrusive and versatile key status indicator

Once you have completed the necessary configurations, you can just send the application to the system tray. Only the icons you select will be displayed, and you can change the app’s settings easily at any time.
When you are done setting things up, you can configure the application to be launched automatically on logon and minimized to the tray. You will never need to open the program manually again, and you preferences will be saved.

Useful application that displays key status on your desktop

While CapsLock Indicator was probably intended to help users who do not have visual key status indicators in their keyboards, it can be useful for others as well. It is highly configurable, capable of displaying both tray indicators and notifications, and we found it to be very novice-friendly.
