It might not seem like a very useful app at first, but imagine having to move or copy relevant data from one device to another during a transition. Let’s say that you need to move your contacts, text messages, photos, videos, and music from and Android phone to a Windows Phone.
With the help of the Switch to Windows Phone app, this can be done rather easily. All you have to do is to install the counterpart of the Windows Phone and just start the transfer. The applications will communicate over Wi-fi and just move all the relevant files.
If the second phone hasn’t been set up just yet, you can create a backup on OneDrive using a Microsoft account and retrieve it later from your new Windows phone.
