PingoMeter

0.9.9

Ping an IP address continuously and view your latency in a real-time graph shown via a system tray icon, with this portable, customizable utility

It is relatively easy to perform a simple ping test without additional software, but the command console isn’t really suitable for keeping track of latency while performing other tasks.
PingoMeter is a lightweight, open-source program that pings a certain address continuously and displays your latency in the system tray. It is unobtrusive, offers several customization options and is very easy to configure.

View your ping in the system tray

As soon as you have launched the application, you will notice a new system tray icon that shows a real-time graph displaying recent ping results. PingoMeter uses the Google Public DNS address by default, but you can enter any other IP address.
It is possible to increase or decrease the update time, as well as set the maximum ping interval. If you want to return to the initial configuration, you can reset the settings at any time.

Customizable system tray ping monitor

Depending on the ping value, it will be displayed in the graph using a different color, based on the maximum ping interval set by the user. The application can indicate good, normal or bad latency.
The default colors are easy enough to identify, but you can also create your own color theme if you feel that the initial one is difficult to read or doesn’t match your desktop theme.

Fully portable application

It is worth noting that all your settings are stored in a text file in the program folder, which means you can place the utility on a portable storage device and use it on multiple PCs without losing your configuration, as the application also doesn’t need to be installed.
All in all, PingoMeter is a simple yet well-designed utility that enables you to monitor your ping in an accessible and unobtrusive manner, and it offers a decent amount of customization options.
