Get your computer organized with this simple, yet highly-intuitive file manager with support for as many tabs as you like, simple controls and quick navigation

Using a computer on a daily basis for work and leisure activities surely fills it up with a breathtaking amount of files and folders. Sure, a search engine helps you quickly find items of interest, but it's better to keep an organized arrangement. With this in mind, ExplorerXP was developed as a file management solution with multiple tab support and other useful features.

No new updates for some time

Sadly, the application stopped receiving updates some time ago and while it can still run on the latest Windows iterations, several compatibility issues might occur, such as the context menu not properly displaying. Since it's purpose is to enhance practicality and working speed, some might be tempted to look away when encountering inconveniences.

Simple, yet intuitive interface

In terms of visuals, the application sports a decent interface, with well-organized elements in the upper toolbar and a fully customizable workspace. You can open as many file explorer tabs as you see fit, and even though they might appear only enlisted in a dedicated area, these can be manually arranged because they run in their own windows, or have them equally distributed through a few dedicated buttons.

Create shortcuts and bookmarks for quick access

Navigation is definitely enhanced, with another contributing feature being the side panel. It displays a tree view of your hard disk drive, with the possibility to instantly gain access to areas of interest. What's more, an integrated bookmarks manager lets you fill in areas you frequently access and open them with a few mouse clicks.
However, as hard as you look, there's no search engine and this is a shame because the application runs smooth and could have saved a lot of time when managing files or looking for a specific document. On the other hand, there are presets for some of the most important or common areas of your PC, such as the desktop or documents folder.

Handle files and folders with hotkey commands

Managing files is done as you normally do when using Windows' file explorer. If you have multiple tabs open, know that drag and drop is supported, as well as any other function to copy, cut or delete. Moreover, hotkey support gives you the possibility to further reduce time you spend with file management.

To end with

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that ExplorerXP lives up to expectations, although left unattended for some time now. Resource consumption is a little far from modesty, but not too demanding to put pressure on your machine. It might not be the best of its kind, but the set of features it comes equipped with get the job done.
