audioApp

1.0.0.5

A lightweight application designed for toggling the system mute on and off in Windows with a single click, if pinned to the quick launch menu

audioApp is a lightweight tool advertised as a somehow easier way to mute your system's sound. Even if a simple click on the default sound icon located in the system tray would do the job, having an extra method to do that won't probably hurt. Reasons for using this app can be plenty or none at all, so install and use this tool of your own volition.

Install it and pin it into the taskbar

For quicker access to it, the best way to go is to navigate to where the app was installed and pin it to the taskbar. The first reason to do that is that no desktop shortcut will be generated upon installation. The second one is the fact that a taskbar icon requires just a click in order to execute a process, so if you are creating a desktop icon and using it from there, you’ll have a hard time muting and unmuting the system, solely due to the slight delay the app seems to present upon utilisation.

Can be used to control volume as well

Apparently, simply running the application will cause the app to only mute/unmute your audio, but if you run it with the volup, voldn parameters, it will change its behavior, making it alter the volume only.
To sum things up, audioApp is an application that brings nothing new, or consistent to the table, besides offering a so-called different way to mute your audio or change its volume. It's not like this app is broken or has any functional issues, but unless you have some kind of problems using the default audio controls, there aren't really any reasons to use audioApp at all, unless you want that one-click muting action, triggered from the quick launch shortcut.
