APFS for Windows

2.1.97

Enables you to browse Apple File System (APFS) formatted drives on a Windows computer, supporting hard disks, SSDs, and removable drives

The Apple File System or, in short, APFS, is specific to Apple devices, including Mac OS and iOS systems, so it is not possible to browse APFS-formatted drives on Windows unless a dedicated application such as APFS for Windows is used.
Providing support for regular hard disks, SSDs, and removable disks, APFS for Windows enables you to explore the content of APFS drives just as you would an NTFS or FAT-formatted drive.

Verify and format APFS-formatted drives

Following a straightforward setup process, APFS for Windows starts to automatically scan for APFS-formatted drives, displaying the compatible volumes within its main window. Should automatic detection fail, you must re-connect the target drives and restart the APFS service from the main menu of the application.
APFS for Windows reveals the drive's total, used and free storage space, its state, and its partition style. With a single click, you can check the data integrity of the target partition or drive, or start formatting its contents. Evidently, the latter option erases all the files on the drive so make sure to create a backup beforehand.

Browse APFS drives in Windows Explorer

Detected volumes are mounted automatically in read-only mode, but you can change this default configuration via the Settings window. Other than action logging, there are not many additional options to tamper with in APFS for Windows.
Once mounted, a volume should be recognized by Windows Explorer as a regular drive, which means you should be able to browse its contents just like you do with any other partition.

Mounts APFS volumes in Windows

APFS for Windows comes in handy if you need to browse data on an APFS-formatted drive on a Windows PC. While the drives are mounted in read-only mode by default, the application also allows writing access, meaning you can create, edit or delete files.
