The default YouTube app from Google has a number of limitations that could be considered annoying. For example, you can set the app to run in the background and let the music play. One of the reasons is that YouTube also displays ads, so shutting down the display is not an option.
YouTube Vanced aims to fill that gap by providing a way to block ads on YouTube and to allow users to turn off the display and continue using YouTube services. Some of the features available in the app include the option to force HDR or VP9, to use pinch to zoom function, to use PiP (picture in picture), and even set the preferred speed and resolution.
Please keep in mind that this version doesn’t require Root access, but it does need MicroG for Vanced so that you can also login into YouTube. Without it, you will be forced to use YouTube anonymously.
