WhatsRemoved was an app initially developed for people that wanted to see deleted messages from WhatsApp. Users have the right to delete messages in conversations, for a short period. Keeping that messages against the wishes of the other party were a breach of WhatsApp's terms of service.
On the other hand, WhatsRemoved+ aims to remain legal by allowing people to keep messages they missed. People can choose what folders to watch for changes and what apps are being monitored. A notification is sent when something is changing.
