Mozilla needs to test all the new options for Firefox before making them available for everyone, and one of the ways to do that is by implementing them on another platform. And this is where the Mozilla Reference Browser comes into play.
 
As expected, the Mozilla Reference Browser is no going to be a stable experience, and it’s an Internet browser designed for people that want to help in making a better app or who just want to experience all the latest features.
 
Mozilla Reference Browser is built from multiple components such a GeckoView, Glean, and others. Also, it’s worth noting that Mozilla has no intention of making this a stable product or to ship it later on.
