When Google launches a new device, they usually release further upgrades to the launcher and other apps. In the case of Google Pixel 2, a new launcher has been released, specifically for those devices.
Fortunately, users can also install the launcher on older versions, and they should get pretty much the same options, with one exception. The Google Now cars won’t show unless the launcher is installed as a system app.
Also, the search field has been moved to the bottom of the screen so that it’s much more accessible, and new animations have been introduced. The APK should be available for installation on pretty much any device with Android 8.0, 7.x, and even 6.x unless there is some restriction from the hardware maker.
Please keep in mind that it's not designed for other devices than Pixel 2 and it can crash.
