Porta'Menu
1.0.4.6This application is a launcher and enables you to add the executable files of your favorite programs so you can start them easier
There are various ways to launch your programs and games, but keeping them on the desktop can get it cluttered sooner or later. If you want to keep it clean, then specialized applications like Porta'Menu provide intuitive menus to create in order to launch anything of interest at the press of a button.
On the bright side of things, the application is portable, which means it doesn’t require setup. You can thus carry it around on a thumb drive, and even with other programs to be your portable programs launcher, without any special management. It doesn’t make changes to registry entries, so the health status of the target PC remains intact.
All the application has to offer is found in a classic, compact window frame, but you can resize it by adjusting the borders. When not directly used, you can minimize it to the tray area. Sadly, there’s no hotkey command to bring it back up, and the corresponding tray menu doesn’t enlist added apps to launch them without bringing up the window.
The core feature of the application is to provide a simple alternative method of launching items of interest. Note, however, that it only works with executable files. Folders are not accepted, but you can create multiple groups to act as folders. These are changed from the interface context menu.
Effort on your behalf is quite minimum. All you have to do is either drop the EXE file of interest over the main window, or use the browse dialog in this regard. Items get enlisted by filename, and can be removed at the press of a button. The window can sit on top of everything else.
Bottom line is that desktop shortcuts are a fast way of accessing items, but it easily gets cluttered. This is where Porta'Menu comes in handy, which can be your personal launcher for apps on your computer or even from a removable storage device since it doesn’t require setup to function.
