osu!rank is an open-source program that enables you to view your rank on the official osu! server or Ripple directly on your desktop. Additionally, it allows you to compare to players to see how they match against each other.
Setting things up is quite simple. If you play on the official server, you’re going to need an API key, which you can get from your profile after logging in on the website. Once that is done, just enter the name of any player to view their rank and stats.
You can select any of the available osu! game modes, and the application can even update the information automatically at a specified interval.
A more interesting feature is the ability to compare the rank and statistics of two osu! players. You just need to enter their names and select the preferred game mode. If one player’s statistics are superior, they will be shown in bold.
To avoid providing each player’s name every time you launch the program, you can access the settings and change the default player names. From here, you can also specify if the application should refresh the information automatically.
If there is one feature we would like to see added, it’s the option to minimize the application or send it to the system tray. While it can update your info regularly, it is not exactly unobtrusive, so keeping it on your desktop at all times is not really an option.
