MentDB

Unique platform that provides a series of advanced tools for AI, SOA, ETL, ESB, database, data quality, predictive analytics and database applications

MentDB, short for Mentalese Database, is a complex and potent platform that uses a new data language called MQL and all the required tools for building comprehensive AI, SOA, ETL, ESB, database, predictive analytics, and chatbot applications. Another highlight of the project is the fact that it uses a high-tech AI algorithm and an innovative SOA layer to reach something WWD, short for World Wide Data, a project/concept that’s meant to standardize the exchange of data in real-time between companies from all around the globe.
Before we go even further, it’s also worth noting that the name is directly related to a language written by Jerry Fodor in 1975 (Mentalese) designed to mimic the thought process of the human brain.

Why MentDB is worthy of your attention

To be more specific, here’s what MentDB can do for you and your future projects: it allows you to create web apps quickly, to move data between software (via 22 built-in exchange protocols), activate various processes remotely and deploy on a single machine (centralized deployment – SOA), and create business processes and efficiently streamline them with the platform’s scheduler.
What’s more, thanks to the usage of AI, MentDB handles prediction and chatbot tasks extremely well. In addition, it also supports asynchronous processes, and it allows you to generate APIs in snapshots, among many other real-world applications.

Getting started with MentDB

Right off the bat, it’s worth noting that the platform is comprised of two main parts: the server and the editor (both are included in the same archive). The server allows you to use various tools for artificial intelligence-related tasks, as well as for data processing, while the editor allows you to control the whole process via the revolutionary data language called MQL. Keep in mind that you need to make sure that both Java Runtime Environment, and MySQL are present on your computer’s system.
Unzip the archive, open the Bin folder, Windows, and simply run the start.bat script file. Repeat the process for the editor, and you should be prompted with a Mentalese Trigger window from where you can either start the editor, as well as add, update, copy, or delete the connections.
Since the platform is Java-based, it should come as no surprise that the editor’s GUI is not exactly stellar. Nevertheless, all the required tools are readily available in the main window, as there are no hidden menus or extra sections.

Conclusion

Taking everything into account, MentDB is a very versatile, and definitely very interesting project with a plethora of real-world applications. Not only can it serve as a server for a wide range of projects, but it can also act as a NoSQL database and a web app manager/framework.
