Mach2 is an advanced tool designed to help power users manage the Windows Feature Store more efficiently. It is important to note that you should know exactly what you are doing before using the tool, as making modifications in the internal system state that you do not fully understand is very risky.
Generally speaking, the Feature Store is located in an undocumented Windows Notification Facility and enable you to toggle various functions related to the operating system's functionality. Some examples in this sense include test hooks, overrides or mitigations. The idea behind the tool is to provide two ways to access and manage these switches.
First off, via scanning the app scans the Microsoft Program Database files for Feature symbols and collects them for an analysis. The results are presented to the user who gets to decide which features deserve further investigation. The second component of the utility is the Management, as the app can resolve known IDs to names for convenience. Since it has the Feature ID, you can easily find and toggle a desired feature in the local system.
According to the developer, Features tend to drive state compliance, meaning that in certain cases it can ignore the configured state. This is because factors related to staging configuration dictate whether the feature respects its configurable state.
