Enjoy something a bit different - a highly customizable app built with Electron and React that allows you to manage files on your computer

File managers have been with us for a long, long time, always ready to step in when we deem the File Explorer (formerly known as Windows Explorer) either too boring, or too lackluster in terms of speed, features, and whatnot.
A good file manager should look good, be very easy to use, make the whole process of transferring files a lot easier, and ultimately improve our experience with the OS that happens to be installed on our computers.
Lsdeer aims to bring a fresh take on what the modern file manager should be, and even though it's not faster or more lightweight than other popular alternatives out there, it's still worth checking out.

Why choose Lsdeer over other file managers?

Before we get down to the nitty-gritty details, it's important to know that Lsdeer is a file manager built entirely on web technologies such as Electron and React.
With that out of the way, Lsdeer has a few traits that most file managers don't have: it's highly customizable and modern-looking. The app boasts a grey-themed GUI with simple elements and a customizable theme. The color schemes can be extracted from the background image, for an extra touch of style.
Head over to the Settings section, and you'll discover a plethora of customization options. You can pretty much do everything you want. For example, you can change the app's general opacity level, create a unique color scheme with the ability to change the font, background, UI elements, and accent colors.
You can also change the font and choose a size that perfectly fits your style, and pretty much customize the size of various GUI elements such as the focus outline width, the grid row height, the grid column width, and even the file icon size.
Other than that, Lsdeer pretty much does what most file managers do. Thanks to its multi-tabbed GUI, you can work on multiple locations and with multiple folders from a single main window, making potential file transfer a lot easier. There's also a Favorites section, and the app also allows you to create and rename files in bulk.

Conclusion

How does Lsdeer stack up when compared to other, more focused file managers out there? Well, quite alright. It has almost all the basics covered in terms of typical features, and it provides you with a more user-centric experience thanks to its plethora of customization options.
To conclude, if you don't care that it's not the fastest or the most lightweight file manager out there, then Lsdeer is definitely worthy of your attention.
