Display graphic information directly on terminals or store them in files with the help of this high-level scientific data plotting library

DISLIN is a development component that provides users with the possibility to display data graphically. It includes all of the necessary resources for both developers and scientists but it does not require them to possess any knowledge of hardware features.
The library can come in handy for anyone working on applications that involve high-level plotting library can be used for displaying data as curves, 3D-color and polar plots, graphs, and charts, as well as for maps, surfaces and contours. According to the developers, there are a wide variety of parameter setting routines that can be called to create customized graphic representations.
It is worth mentioning that the tool enables the display of graphic information directly on terminals. Nevertheless, they can also be stored in metafiles that can be used later on. Moreover, the metafiles can be printed via the specialized driver program – DISDRV – or they can be imported in various third-party tools, the most noteworthy being MS Word and TeX.
Among the supported graphic displays the library is compatible with include X Window, Windows API, Tektronix and VGA. As far as the supported file formats is concerned, there are PostScript, SVG, PNG, PDF, GKSLIN, BMP, TIFF, GIF, CGM, HPGL and WMF.
