BunnyPad

0.8.0 RC2

Control your computer with a gamepad and avoid having to switch to your mouse and keyboard for performing simple actions, with this open-source utility

If you’re playing a game from the comfort of your couch, you probably don’t want to go to your desk just to google something or open a file. It would be great if you could use your controller to perform these actions, and there are specialized utilities out there that can help you out.
BunnyPad is an interesting open-source program that can emulate both mouse movements and keyboard actions to let you control your PC with just a gamepad. It is easy to set up and very unobtrusive.

Helpful keyboard and mouse emulator

The current version is designed to work with the Xbox 360 and Xbox One gamepads. It should detect the device automatically and allow you to control your desktop without any other configurations.
You can perform a wide range of actions, such as moving the mouse cursor, clicking, typing via a virtual keyboard, copying or pasting files, altering the volume and more. The application can be hidden and then brought back up with a single button.

Configure the bindings to suit your preferences

We found the default button mappings to be well thought-out, but you can always change them if you prefer a different configuration. You can even use an FN button to perform various actions only when it is pressed.
The configuration manager may not be as straightforward as some users would like, but it isn’t terribly complex. Once you’re done, you can save your bindings to a file that can be loaded later.

Useful application for gamers who want to do more with their controllers

Essentially, BunnyPad allows you to use your gamepad to perform a number of simple operations that would normally require you to switch to a mouse and keyboard. It uses an intuitive control scheme that can be customized, and it runs quietly in the background.
