While Spotify is considered by most the perfect companion for road trips, date nights and even quiet nights at home, one of the things everyone dislikes about it is the ads. Luckily, there are tools that can lend a hand. Bonk is a lightweight utility designed to help you automatically mute the irritating ads that may disrupt your flow of thoughts or distract you.

The ads will still play, but they are muted

Even though the program is standalone you still need to have Spotify installed on your system. Speaking of system, the application requires you to have the original app and solely works on Windows x64 bit version. After you ensure you meet these minimal requirements, simply install the app and you should be able to access it from the System Tray.
The tool comes with a small interface that displays the ads that have been muted in a simple, clean list along with the date and time when the advertisements were Bonked! The muting is done automatically, so you do not really need to do anything else but install it. The GUI does not play any role, but rather it is there so you can check out how many ads were muted.

It is important to note that, as with many other similar tools out there, the idea behind the tool is not to block advertisements. After all, if you want to block them completely from the listening experience, you should consider subscribing to the Spotify Premium. What it does instead is mute them. Therefore, instead of getting distracting or scared from the higher volume ads, the app trades them for pure silence for the whole duration of the ad.
In the eventuality that you are listening to Spotify daily, but hate the ads, then Bonk provides a solution to the issue, as it simply mutes them and allows you to experience a short moment of silence.
