It often happens that we have all types of apps for different purposes. We might use something to send pictures, but something else to discuss the travel plans. Riot.im is trying to bring all of these activities under a single roof.
Basically, Riot.im is a Matrix client and is compatible with other Matrix compatible apps, servers and integrations. With the help of the application users share messages, images, and videos, the can communicate with other people in the same ecosystem, they can join rooms with specific topics, they never lose access to the chat history, and they even get access to voice and video 1-1 and conference calling via WebRTC.
Of course, all communications are encrypted end-to-end with the help of Olm.
