Pixel Launcher for Unrooted Devices
3.3Rootless Pixel Launcher is a modified version of the official Pixel Launcher that can be used on other devices than the regular Pixel phones, without needing root access. Read more about Pixel Launcher for Unrooted Devices
The Pixel Launcher is used by default on Google Pixel devices, but it can be installed on older Google phones as well, via an APK. The problem is that without root access, the older Google devices won’t be able to use it at full capacity and some features are not available.
A developer managed to modify the original Pixel Launcher and make it work on other older devices. Features the are exclusive to Pixel phones, such as the Google Now panel and G Search Pill are now available for other phones as well.
For now, the Google Now page is working, along with the G Pill animation, the weather widget, and the date widget. Check back for further updates.
There is only one limitation, for now at least. The package needs to have the same name as the regular Pixel Launcher, or the weather widget won’t work.
