Gestures are making their way into the Android ecosystem, and it’s up to developers to provide this type of functionality. Usually, this kind of integration requires root access, by the XDA devs managed to pull it off without that.

The application integrates with the operating system by hiding the regular navigation bar. It’s not displaying over it, and it’s not using any other tricks. The only drawback is that it will need some special permissions that can only be offered over ADB.

Pretty much all of the gestures can be customized, to some extent, which means that you don’t have to follow a predetermined control scheme. There is a premium add-on for the app that lets users also access the drop-down notifications and the media controls.

Please keep in mind that you will have to disable the Navigation Gestures before uninstalling it.
