Barcodes and QR codes can contain quite a little bit of information, but very few Android versions have the tools to decode them by default. This means that a third party application is needed, such as the QRcode Reader.
 
The application also comes with a zoom function, a history of all the data that’s been collected, and even a flashlight so that it can be used in low light environments.
