Facebook wants to do something different with Lifestage, and that’s especially evident by looking at the target audience for the app, which is built specifically for teenagers. The application rolls out on a school by school basis and only the people attending will be able to create profiles.
This is where Lifestage comes into play. Users can make video profiles for themselves, adding information about all the simple stuff in their lives. The difference is that they don’t add text, but videos modified by tons of filters that express what they are feeling and what they are doing.
In Lifestage, you can’t filter out who’s seeing the information that you put out, but that’s one of the features of the app. The idea is to show to everyone who you are and to do it in a really creative way.
