Small devices such as smart watches need to be constantly connected to the phone, and that can only be achieved by using a very light technology that doesn’t drain the batteries for a wearable device or the phone. The technology is called ANT, and it’s already present in lots of mobile devices.
 
ANT is capable of connecting devices such as heart rate sensors, fitness equipment, cycling products, weight scales, and everything in between. Even after you installed the application, the service cannot be launched directly. It will run in the background, and it only is accessed when there is a need for it.
